The Demoy couple left their native Brittany in the late 1970s to settle in Quebec. Robert, a graduate oenologist from the University of Bordeaux, worked a few years for a leading Quebec manufacturer of wines and ciders. For her part, Joëlle Demoy works in the same work environment since her return to the labour market in 1983. The two epicureans decided to devote themselves entirely to apple cider production and set up Du Minot cider house in Hemmingford, in the southwestern townships. In 1988, they produced the first vintage of their renowned Crémant de Pomme. It was the first Quebec artisanal alcohol sold at the SAQ. To this day, this delicious sparkling cider remains the star product of the Du Minot cider house!
The perseverance and excellent work of the Du Minot team have paid off! The following generation decided to follow in their parent's footsteps, thus ensuring the business's future. With excellent knowledge and passion: the couple's two children, Audrenne and Alan, have taken the lead. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Alan, among other roles, assumes sales and marketing responsibility. Audrenne, having acquired a rich knowledge during her two academic years in biochemistry, takes over for her father in the production and development of ciders.
